Photographer's Note

Given that this is my 150th post, I thought I'd change it up a little bit. This was one of my early favorites from my Canadian Rockies trip last year, and I've been holding on to it for quite some time for a special occasion. I think this qualifies.

This was my first sunrise in the Canadian Rockies on this trip. If you've never experienced sunrise here, let me just say that there's no better experience. The morning started out completely clear with beautiful pink alpenglow on Mt. Edith Cavell (which I couldn't photograph because I was still en route), but within a half hour clouds started to roll in and the light got pretty dramatic. This was perhaps the most dramatic moment. Absolutely beautiful.

Oh, and I stood here for over an hour and a half and didn't see a soul. Love it.
