Photographer's Note

Lionas cove is located in northeast side of Naxos, in a distance of 40km from Chora and 6km from Koronos. The picturesque cove has multicolored pebbles at the coast and deep, clear, crystal sea.
The visitors will have the chance to swim at a sea full of frothy waves, because of the northerly winds that are blowing the most days of the year. Around the homonymous cove is built the village, with nice traditional taverns.
In the way to Lionas you will see the archways of an old emery mine and the remains of aerial railway that was used for the transfer of the emery.
There is an asphalt roadway, proper for all cars. The colors of sunrise at Chanoplaka place, with the big waves and the rocky landscape compose a beautiful scene that is a unique image for those who choose to visit this hilly picturesque cove of northeast Naxos, whether in summer or in winter time.
