Hi Stephanie and welcome to TE! You have captured something great here and you are correct the eye and overall body language say so much more in this image. I like your tight framing to give us a better glimpse at these sad faces. Your flash is a bit harsh on this one but has helped to actually bring out many details that would have otherwise not come across. Thanks for sharing this spectacular capture.

Normally on shots like this I would tame the flash down quite as to not give such a specular effect. However, in this case it has worked wonders for your image!

Welcome to TE: and you've started your account with an excellent group portrait. I love the direct eye contact: I don't think you'd get that from European children. It's hard to read their expressions, but I'm persuaded you're right about sadness, mixed with just a little curiosity. Keep them coming!
