Photographer's Note

Here we have a general view of the Palace Square.
At left you can see the Winter Palace, where is one of the most important museums of the world, the Hermitage. In the other side of the square we can see the huge building of General Staff Palace, with a huge arch inside.Between the two palaces you can see Alexander Column. Behind me it was the Admiralty building and at left was Neva river.
In 1905, during the war against Japan, people was suffering a lot and created a meeting in this square trying to convince the czar to solve the nation troubles. These people thought the emperor was living in the palace and tried to invade it to talk with him and the guards killed many humble people and this event was named "Bloody Sunday. This was one the first causes of the end of monarchy in Russia.
