In the heart of the winter and after the heavy snowfall that took place in my city Volos today the temperature rose and we all starred at this astonishing sunset that turned the city into red...
One of the first sunsets of the new year.

A lovely, backlit b&w photograph.

Hi Costantino,
My favourite type of sun, a giant starburst :) really unique and great idea to make this mono, as it draws great emphashis to the long shadow thrown by the bicycles wheel which is so pronounced it almost competes with the majesty of the sun itself. It's a nice family shot too with the young girl on the back of her mums bike. Great moment and perfectly taken.

πολύ όμορφο αυτό το μαυρόασπρο στιγμιότυπο με την μοναχική ποδηλάτισα με την κόρη της να διασχίζει την παραλία λίγο πριν ο ήλιος δύσει δημιουργώντας αυτή την υπέροχη ατμοσφαιρική αίσθηση μοναδικότητας.Ο ήλιος με τις ακτίνες του έχει 'γράψει' εξαιρετικά στο σκηνικό.

πολύ ωραία και ενδιαφέρουσα εικόνα, υποδηλώνει με καλλιτεχνικό τρόπο την ατμόσφαιρα της προκυμαίας ένα ηλιόλουστο, χειμωνιάτικο απόγευμα. Καθώς η ποδηλάτισσα και η κόρη της κάνουν ήρεμα τη βόλτα τους, το φως και οι σκιές στήνουν ένα φανταστικό παιχνίδι και σκηνικό γύρω τους. Θαυμάσια λήψη, που αποκάλυψε ενα θέαμα δύσκολα αντιληπτό με γυμνό μάτι, μια υπέροχη εκδοχή της καθημερινής ζωής. Συγχαρητήρια και ευχαριστώ!

Dramatic contre-jour shot, with the added bonus of being monochrome! I'm not sure about the lamp-post position relative to the couple on the bike: 1/2 a second before or after would have solved this; but despite this issue, it's a lovely image. Great shadows.

Strange that you speak of the red sunset Constantino and then post a shot in B&W, but how well this works; I cannot imagine it being nearly as powerful in colour. You have managed the light exceptionally well; I love the contrasts and shadows and the rim light around the cycling couple is lovely.

One of your best I think!
