Photographer's Note

Summer is truly over, according to the calendar. Children have finished term one at school and people have been at work for so long that Summer holidays are just a memory. Yet today it was 30 degrees and the week saw temperatures in the high twenties.

I took a long drive to the seaside today with my wife, in her brand new car, to the squeaky clean Dromana Beach. Most people were at work, the children at school. The cafes and the beach were almost empty but the feeling was definitely reminiscent of those hazy, lazy days of Summer. We enjoyed the locally made ice cream and later, after visiting Heronswood Cottage and gardens, an iced coffee hit the spot.

By 1881 Dromana was established as a coastal resort town.
