Under the Bridge of Sighs, a photo from Venice, Veneto

Photographer's Note

The Bridge of Sighs is one of many bridges in Venice. The enclosed bridge is made of white limestone and has windows with stone bars. It passes over the Rio di Palazzo and connects the old prisons to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace.
The bridge name, given by Lord Byron in the 19th century, comes from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice out the window before being taken down to their cells.
A local legend says that lovers will be assured eternal love if they kiss on a gondola at sunset under the bridge.

A small correction: I thing is not "one of many bridges in Venice", I thing is the most beautiful and one of many bridges in Venice bridge in Venice.

We see so much of Venice, canals and gondola boats but I seldom see this version of high wall on each side with arch bridge link to cross over at high point. Shown with good depth at f/7.1 here. Good to see the sharpness is there.
