Photographer's Note
Several days ago, I noticed that a spider had been busy spinning a web on one of our cactus plants and I've been waiting for the chance to photograph it with some daylight. Today, the light was poor right up until just before sunset, when the clouds broke for a little while. As I started photographing the cactus on my windowsill, I noticed that the spider had shed its skin, and left it on the plant, so I focused on this for my picture! I positioned the plant so that the spider skin was lit by the last sunrays and the cactus was backlit with a spotlight.

Great shot, almost surreal.Love the colours. I didn't know spiders shed their skin.

Nice shot. Good use of DOF to keep us focussed on the spider. The cactus spines add an element of interest as well. The lighting makes the shot look vibrant though I would prefer that the spider skin be fully illuminated.

J'ai l'impression que l'araignée est en cristal.
Vous avez très bien maitrisé la lumière est les couleurs. Vous avez effectué ce joli travail difficile avec beaucoup de patience.
I have the impression that the spider is made of crystal. You controlled the light and the colors very well. You carried out this pretty difficult work with much of patience.
