Photographer's Note
Chicago's Lake Shore Drive (along the shores of Lake Michigan) going north as seen from the observation deck of the John Hancock Tower. This was taken on a balmy day late summer two years ago - I drove up from downstate Illinois to see the sights of the city. I love the buildings' shadows cast on the drive.

Dear Susan, this is one of the pictures where I don't understand that no one else critiqued before after 133 views. It fits perfectly well into the TE Theme - Learning about the world through photography. Indeed the shadows give it an interesting aspect. No shadow is going out of the picture which is also good. I also like the part of land that goes out to the sea in the middle of the picture. Thanks for sharing.

This is a really great shot of the shore with all the apartment buildings creating a wall between the lake and the city. The shadows create a great horizontal interest and the haziness of the day adds a surreal feel to the photo as the skyscrapers and the horizon sort of blur together at the top. It is also sharp and detailed despite the amount of haze.
