Photographer's Note
This is a another shot of the Project Bandaloop performance at the Detroit Arts Festival. Project Bandaloop is a vertically-performing dance troupe. This piece reminded me of ballet with its fluid, graceful movements. Although it looks really cool horizontal, this time I left the perspective exactly as I saw it. If you haven't seen it yet, take a look at the shot I uploaded yesterday, Vertical Vertigo.

Certainly an interesting photo! Thanks for putting this one vertical as it should be! The light here is so harsh, but when they dance, you've got to shoot. I've made a workshop for you. I hope it is helpful.

I like both these photos. The rotation of the first creates an unsettling effect for the viewer which I find effective. This one captures the beauty of the performance. I would suggest a possible crop just above the person at the bottom. IMO the power of this shot lies in the relationship between the remaining three performers.

I feel that there is a greater sense of height in this one compared to the horizontal one. We do really feel the fluidity of the movement. Great capture. I don't recall you told us how high they were to perform such a dance, does it mean also that you were leaning through a window to take that shot.

an amazing capture. love the different spots of people and their positions. i would not change a thing. love the energy portrayed by the two about to bound in the lower right corner and the positions of the two on the left side of the image. overall the image captures the nature of the dance well. very nice image.

...and I am still figuring out what is carabiner, figure 8 and rappeling. Like I have read on other comments, this is a TE photo alright. I didn't know you could actually dance with rope.I prefer this shot because it is the real thing, what we would see in real life. The brain could comprehend better and see the unusualness.
