The Black Hills

For a more detailed background of the Black Hills see my previous post Paha Sapa.

My first morning of vacation last week I made the effort to get up for dawn and then an early morning walk around Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park.

Custer State park is known mostly for the Needles Highway and wildlife .. but this tiny little picturesque lake has been one of my favorite places since I hiked and camped across the hills with a group in my teenage years .. we stayed here one night .. I have always wanted to return with a camera .. Needless to say it was a wonderful peaceful morning.
