Photographer's Note

Our area has abundant habitat for wildlife. Settings such as this one, for example, are both attractive stopovers as geese wing their way north and southward on their semi-annual journeys, as well as a destination for much of the year. An extensive trail system lets visitors walk, run, and bike close by. But the ponds are buffered well enough to give solitude to birds and beasts alike. And they retain a wildness that leaves the pond seemingly empty if one approaches too close.
