Photographer's Note
So, my wife and I managed to miss Hurricane Sandy, which swept through Boston and the rest of the American East Coast after doing damage to the Caribbean as well. I hope everyone else here who was in the storm's path made it out unscathed; that's especially directed to Brenda (worldcitizen) who is the only TE'er I know of specifically who lived in NYC, which was hit very hard by the storm.
We were in Texas for a friend's wedding. Of course, the storm stranded us here an extra day, but we're stranded in beautiful weather, and we made to most of it by driving out to San Antonio, a place neither of us had been. I'll post some shots from there soon. For today, though, a follow up on on my previous Fenway Park post; a pitch from the Detroit Tigers' ace pitcher Justin Verlander to a Red Sox player (I can't recall exactly who, and it's tough to tell from the picture) during a game that ended up ending early due to rain. This was taken the same day as the previous shot I posted.
Hope everyone is well, and I'll catch up on the pictures people have posted when I get back home!

hi Andrew
a suitable long panoramic picture to follow the game, and you fired at the decisive moment, when the ball is hit while the thrower is still in an unbalanced position!
Moreover the white lines on the red path lead the look on the batman.
Congratulations!

Hello Andrew,
I love baseball. :-) Unfortunately I am a long-suffering NY Mets fan! I like this crop of the field and stands at Fenway. The action is great, and the baselines lead us right to home plate. Nice color and sharpness, too.
Thanks again for thinking about NYC and me following this destructive hurricane. The clean up continues...

Hi dear Andrew
That is very good for you not to be damaged by Sandy.
Another great baseball shot. You get the prefect moment. Wow that seems to be a miracle.
Thank you for your sharing with your best work and have a good day!

Hi Andrew
nice to see that you made it back safe and sound.
Lets Play Ball!!
looking closely, its hard to tell exactly who's playing boston, i'm thinking its Detroit?
its funny to see the playing field from this angle, almost 100% of the time we get to see the 'tv' angle.
here, the playing field looks so much smaller and life like.
excellent cut of the diamond.
cheers

Hello Andrew
Great to hear that you escaped Sandy and it seems to me in a rather pleasant way. Just lets hope that the affected areas and people get up to their feet as soon as possible as well.
Fantastic sports shot by the way. The moment you captured when the ball is just to hit the bat of the defender and the still dynamic position of the pitcher, just perfect.
have a great time

Hi Andrew
This is great example of decisive moment and precise timing, a second earlier or a second later might give a different unfavourable result - we may not be able to see the ball there. Spot on, crop and positioning of the two main players so well frozen, dynamic hint of motion effect, their intense energy and the look of concentration really make the shot in such great atmosphere and rich colors. Strike it home! Fantastic image, Well done.
Kind regards

Hello Andrew,
The cut up and/or below makes the picture extra
wide (I like that) and emphasize extra the
moment/baseball-game. Composition and the light
management are also good.
Friendly regards,
Robert

Hi Andrew,
You shot it awesomely.
I am not into baseball, but the fact that the pithcer was still in post-pitching pose while the batting man had already gotten the ball leaving at least 3 inches of his bat.
An this was the excitement for the fans at the backseat on whether there is going to be a home-run or not.
I place my last penny that you have burst shots of this.
Cheers,
Ralf
