Photographer's Note
Another corner of Battery Park. This one captured my eye both because of the strange design and because it's so different from the rest of the park in which heavy stone and wood are used.
I cropped and enhanced contrast a little (preferred not to saturate in order to maintain the natural color of the wood).

Is this bench made of bent wood? It looks like something out of a Danish design catalogue ;-). Here, pieces of wood are heated and steamed which makes it to some degree malleable, so it can be shapen. Interesting capture.

Good seeing, Liora. I like the curves in this composition. I think the image could use even more contrast and sharpening. What I like is that you've taken advantage of the shapes to create a design, without losing sight of the real object. We can still recognize that it's a bench, but it is recorded in an artistic way.

Interesting subject, you could focus on it, in order to gorget thr environment and emphasize the curves to create something new.
Forget that it's a bench, let do something else.
I propose a WS to you.

The strange form of bench makes a good composition for shoted the pic. You have a nice idea Liora, but I am agree with Alain. I think that you had to capture all the bench or just the small part.

Looking at this and other photos of yours, you have a very good eye for interesting patterns! You may want to experiment with adding just a little more contrast to bring it out more, but this is a lovely image!

Nice photo - I especially like how you've cropped down so we don't see the whole bench. While I agree that more contrast would help, that could only come from helpful lighting - if you apply more contrast to the photo as it is the bench is going to look pretty strange.
