Photographer's Note
Another one of those sights you can see only after the snow... usually, the statue and the ground are in similar colors, and when you pass by you hardly notice the tiger there. After the snow, I suddenly saw it (looks pretty alarming from a distance even though it's only Central Park...).

Nicely seen and i also like the explanation, i understand the situation of different views caused by snow. I personally would prefer to either have the image more cropped or to see more from the area around the statue. The stron light reflected from snow makes it very difficult to get the exposure right, a flash may had helped to see more structure in the face of the lion.
Anyway, nice seeing !

She is so much alive, this cast iron lioness! Or is it a cast iron black panther?
You caught it unaware in such an unusual climate and it even seems that the prints on the snow are her own.
