Norman Rockwell's Covered Bridge, a photo from Vermont, Northeast

Photographer's Note

Take a left off Route 7A in Arlington onto Route 313 west 4.4 miles on left side. This bridge spans the Battenkill River which is well-known by canoeists, kayakers and fly fisherman. The Battenkill is also famous for some great swimming holes. In addition, inner tube rides along the Battenkill are popular during the summer months. The West Arlington Bridge is one of Vermont's best loved and most photographed covered bridges. The picturesque setting includes views of a local church steeple and the former home of artist Norman Rockwell. Rockwell's home is now known as the Inn on Covered Bridge Green and operates as a Bed & Breakfast Inn.

Now you are (mis)using snow to make this photo even better. Great combination of colors, Lancaster County's bridges are more plain colors. Also the sky is great for the winter time.

Tom, this is wonderfully unusual, a covered bridge with an angle to shoot it, I hope to see one of these one day...

I have seen it many times here on TE but I must say that this is one of the best pictures so far. The red walls make an excellent contrast with the super well exposed snow. Well done.

Another fine shot of these wonderful old covered bridges. Your composition is fine showing the bridge from an angle that gives the scene both depth and direction. The river creates a nice diagonal through the shot. The lighting and color are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

This strange covered bridge arise very well in this winter's landscape. A nice contrasts between the red color of the bridge and the another colours. The white colors of the snoow is very well collected. Good managment of light too. An excellent photowork.
