Beach Patrol Headquarters, a photo from Florida, Sud

Photographer's Note

Inspired by the recent photo from Jean (jemaflor) I decided to show my own presentation of the Beach Patrol Headquarters in South Beach in Miami Beach. I think I was too close though and so the palm trees became the main subject here and not the building itself. Very particular structure which is supposed to resemble a boat. According to Jean it is in a Nautical Art Deco style and was built in 1934. Very useful point of reference since it also houses public toilets along the South Beach.

Hello Mariusz,
What a lovely and pin sharp photo of this attractive area. I really like the mix of the many palm trees and the appealing architecture of the white building. A very successful square composition, in which every part is used ideally and the overall photo breathes a very peaceful and relaxed mood.

Hi Mariusz,interesting pic from Miami beach,showing the patrol headquarter in a perfect way,the style reminds a lot the beach villages for childs builth by Mussolini in Italy between the 2 world wars. A very sharp and well exposed composition,i like it! Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

I'd go with art deco style as well - the round windows, curved facade etc. The palm trees fit the photo well as so many photos of beach side architecture just have sun baked buildings. Well done.

Hello Mariusz,
The small round windows on the ground floor are similar to those on boats. Furthermore, you need some imagination for the comparison with a boat.
The white colour of the buildings and the many palm trees represent the tropical atmosphere well.
I've certainly seen worse buildings that housed public toilets and Malgo has seen more colourful buildings for the same purpose in NZ :)

hmmm...this is a different scene from Miami, never seen this one before. I agree that the palm trees do tend to take over the scene a bit, but we are still drawn onto the building and its clock. The strong white exterior facade makes it loud and proud too. props for a unique scene, I like it.

on one of my previous posts from Ireland, you said not many people/tourists travel to that area of the country...any particular reason why? just curious.

A beautiful composition of this place so quiet, curious building the Headquarters of the Patrol of the Beach, its shape reminds me a bit of a boat, the abundance of palm trees in the place adds much charm to the image ..

How beautifully this Patrol building was built on the beach with palm trees all around it. Well taken the picture with the added view down the promenade, under fine light and clarity.
I think Jean Saint-Martin had shown the very same building but from a slightly diff. perspective.

Wonderful scenic photo of Miami beach. Just the tight blue sky as here in the Netherlands at the moment and the temperature will not differ much either. Only the palm trees are out of here.

Beautiful buildings in front of the sea, with the palm trees giving the mood of a beach scene! The light was very well managed to capture such a white painting with no overexposure, and it makes a very nice contrast with the deep blue sky! Wonderful composition!

W pierwszym momencie ten budynek skojarzył mi sie z nadbudowka statku, chyba architekt byl tym zainspirowany, bardzo ladnie pokazales ten budynek wraz z otoczeniem
