Photographer's Note

I was amused at the sight of this mule train driver coming out of the Grand Canyon with all his traditional gear and chatting all the while on his mobile. The track down into the canyon was very narrow and we had to press against the rock wall to let them pass.

It was a very hot and tiring trek, not to be taken lightly, coming back out again I thought at times that I simply would not make it. The feeling on emerging at the rim was uplifting, to be celebrated by a large ice cream!
