Photographer's Note
Freeway 99 is a highway from Los Angeles to Fresno and then to Sacramento. This picture was taken near Bakersfield. In California, Highway called freeway because most of California highways are toll-free.
Center California is a flat land for agriculture. California is also an agriculture state.
This photo was taken when I was driving back to Los Angeles from Yosemite. I was facing north direction when I was taking this picture.

Hi Wes! Thanks for showing us this side of California! The lighting is good, and I like it when I see roads with no traffic :) Your shot here is not as sharp as your previous pics though. This is a good way to document your travels. rgds.

Hi Wes,
Bakersfield says something to me, I think I went through there when travelling from LA to vegas, nice road and lowers perspective giving plenty of depth, and CA highways have a common point with Alsatian ones, they are FREE !
Have a nice day,

Hi Wes,
A very great perspective because of the large depth of the two highways, the flowers in the middle of highways make you picture colourful.
Have a nice weekend,
John

Quite daring driving and shooting. I know this road well, I always get sleepy once i get to 99. The point of view is great almost like being there.
The road leading to the infinite distance is great and you achieved great colors. The row of Oleanders between the two directions of the freeway is wonderful.
Well done,

Hi Wes. A simple but interesting photo of the highway, oh pardon me, freeway. Good deep perspective afforded by the two three-lane roads, and the strip of greenery in the middle. I think the sharpness could be a little better, but the contrast and the overall framing are good.

Bonsoir Wes,
La gratuité sur les autoroutes, un rêve pour certains pays !
De plus, l'autoroute bénéficie d'un terre-plein central garni de fleurs. C'est un véritable plaisir d'emprunter ces autoroutes.
Amitiés.

An interesting look at this part of California, it reminds me a lot of the lower mainland of British Columbia! I also never knew that 'freeways' were highways without tolls! Imagine that. We have very few toll highways in Canada.

Hi Mr. Wes. Another great shot from you. You chose the perfect exposure settings for this kind of shot. The only thing I would do is add some sharpness. But I love the symmetry and depth. Is this it for the Yosemite shots?? So soon? Nice one Wes!

Hi Wes. You were either standing on an overpass or a very high stepladder to take this shot! I like the symmetry. Although this is perhaps a commonplace scene, it is well portrayed, and what is unusual are the beautiful flowering bushes in the median, seen from this angle. One can feel the veritable pulse of the freeway traffic. Well seen and captured.

Very well captured from a high place (crosswalk). Very good view of the freeway with good depth.
Not much traffic for a freeway, looks like you got it on the weekend.
The flowers in the middle give the photo a nice touch.
Very well done Wes.

Hi Wes. You cure caught the beauty of what Hwy 99 has to offer. Great composition. I use to travel this road daily. Wonder if it still has the repetitive bumps in the road that go on for miles. You have done an excellent job. Thanks.

Hi Wes,
I like what you are depicting here, with the flower bushes in the middle and cars on either side.
I guess what I don't understand is, why the photo is grainy and the colors outcast. I would expect more livelihood and vividness in the middle of the day.
anyways, nice perspective!

Hi Wes,
Again you are sharing something with us I only know from television. Of course, we also have highways and freeways in Europe, but the look a bit different. Most highways are for free in Europe, at least in the Netherlands, but in some countries, like France, you have to pay for it. But it is changing because of the traffic jams.
The flat landscape reminds me of the Netherlands, but we don't have yellow lines and those beautiful flowers in the middle. Our cars are smaller, and the roads have a darker colour.
Thanks for sharing this intresting photo. I like photos with roads, because the remind me on traveling, something I really like.

Nice shot Wes,
I like the simplicity of the shot. Did you stop your car just for the shot? That's what I like to see- dedication... hahahaha
I'm going to add this one to my theme "Coming & Going".
Cheers mate,
~ Dan
