Photographer's Note a beautiful sunset on Christmas Day. This photograph is taken in Fremont Park; the lake is Lake Elizabeth (see here for another sunset on the lake).

On the technical side, the photo is an HDR composite from three exposures, for a total of 4 stops of dynamic range.

The weeping willow, or Salix babylonica is a plant native to northern China, and has been used as an ornamental tree since the days of the ancient Silk Routes.

As the Tree grows, the river flows
and life contines to thrive....

We watched the seasons
as they would come and go,
with every change we added
new growth as we also grew old
We felt the smoltering heat and
braved the cold of the snow
Then in the autumn we
rippled our leaves
as the breeze did flow
We were just thankful to be able
to drink from
the river of life
