Photographer's Note
This pier attracts fishermen and photographers. It juts into San Francisco Bay just to the north and east of the Golden Gate Bridge and offers incredible views, as well as fish and crab for those with patience. At the right edge you see a couple of fishermen. Out of the frame to the right are two men with their crab pots ready to drop over the railing and into the Bay.
I know that the Golden Gate Bridge is much photographed by TE members. I've certainly made my contributions in the past. But I won't apologize for adding another image. To my mind the setting, the variable weather, the many interesting perspectives make it impossible to ignore this lovely structure. In this presentation I convert the color image into a duotone. I was inspired quite a while back by Gal Eota's efforts with this treatment and began experimenting in Photoshop. I can't say I've caught the density of the browns he creates, but I'm not displeased with the result. It reminds me of the old photographs I've seen from the days seventy years ago when this bridge was under construction. I hope you enjoy the view.
Thanks Gal...

Well, I open TE and the last one uploaded, is yours, so what can I do? ;-) Yeah thanks Gal, but I do think your own treatment is nothing less from Gal's, just different, I remember Corte Madera shots from you that are really gorgeous.
I must say that is such a neat picture. I'm glad with the fisherman on the pier, but the whole image breathes silence somehow, which to my opinion is caused by the lack of color and the light you met at that time. It's a pleasure to look at.
As far as your suggestion in your message about the ticket, it sounds like a nice deal, but only from your point of view, so no deal.
Be well!

Hi Curtis - another member said to me "It does not matter if this word has been said a thousand times before as long as it is the right thing to say at that moment - {Ralph Vaughan Williams} when I mentioned one of my images was a touch cliched. The same applies here - it's a great photo.
Your eye is led nicely around the scene by the railing, the bridge and then the far shoreline. As such, it is a wonderfully composed image and the b/w is a great choice. Lovely pic, well executed.

Hello Curtis. It is truly an honour to be referenced by someone we admire and for whom we have deep consideration. Please believe that I am as much thankful to you for all the exchanges we had within TE, and that you are sorely missed by some, among whom myself. I have discovered beautiful sights in that part of the world thanks to your photographs and comments, and this new pov on the Golden gate surely is another example of your talent as a photographer and also as a photography maker. We have certainly grown into this digital hobby almost simultaneously, and it has been a great adventure so far, even if part of the pleasure remains in the exchange with others and TE has lost a bit of its magic in that regard. Have an excellent day. Hope to see you around more often even if you don't feel particularly like critiquing. Your presence is precious.

Hi Curtis - well you know how much I love this place so there's no need to apologise for another shot of it! The conversion treatment is good, the bridge itself appearing almost in silhouette against the lighter sky. The perspective is good too, leading over to that communications tower (which I always think of as Twin Peaks but that's not it, right?).

Looks good in B&W - never mind about how many shots of this bridge there is, this one is well worth the post :)

Curtis,
I like that ou have chosen to use a Sepia tone for this shot, it works really well and it's a great composition.
