Photographer's Note

This is a 'distant relation' at Pineview Reservoir doing what she so enjoys...flying high behind a boat.

Pineview Reservoir is located at the top of Ogden Canyon, near the town of Huntsville. Pineview is one of the busiest lakes of it's size in Utah (~2900 acres) and is ~4900' above sea level. It's well known for it's great boating as well as for it's sandy beaches. It also is home to Tiger Muskie...with the largest one that has been caught ~32 lbs.

This was shot just about dusk while bouncing around on the tail end of the boat. I chose aperture priority with an f-stop of 3.2 to give me a little bit of detail. I had to choose a higher ISO rating as it was dusk and I wanted a faster shutter speed. I ended up using ~+1.3 ev compensation boost on the exposure to get something marginal.

Maybe tomorrow I'll show you if she lands her flight successfully or if she face-plants in the water. ;-)

Nice freezing movement capture. We are not missing anything of her effort, it's sharp as a blade. I think to have her so central tends to stall the action though, so I did a WS.
