Photographer's Note

After few days in San Francisco may be you would like to get out of town for a while? Where would the locals go? It depends on your taste... Hmm, speaking about the taste: maybe you would like some wine tasting? No problem at all. Best Californian wines are made about 1 hour from SF in the region called Wine Country.

This photo was taken somewhere along the Napa Valley.

Wine Country is a region of Northern California known worldwide as a premium wine-growing region. Viticulture and wine-making have been practiced in the region since the mid-19th century. There are over 400 wineries in the area north of San Francisco, mostly located in the area's valleys, including Napa Valley in Napa County, and the Sonoma Valley, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Bennett Valley, and Russian River Valley in Sonoma County.

You chose a very well angle, classic but the most beautiful angle between the rows of the vine yard.
Nice detailed image.

this is why our photos compliment each other.
I didnt get out to the Napa Valley, we rented a car, but visited Berkley, Oakland, and a couple other smaller towns. Perhaps next time...
I hope people on TE are aware how great of a job you did with this photo. because its so easy to overexpose the green leaves due to the bright sunlight. i'm pretty sure thats what i would have done!
great shot with excellent depth, sharpness, colors, and exposure. If you have any other shots from the Napa, it'd be great to see them too.

Fajne zdjęcie z winnicy, ciekawie pokazana plantacja z wyodrebnionym jedny szeregiem. Te krzewy są gęsto tu posadzone i mocno ciete. daje to ciekawy efekt graficzny, czy równie z dobre dla jakosci winogron? Ja mam dwa krzaki które mi sie panosza po całym ogródku, opanowujac po drodze co sie da. Moze powinnam wziąć przykład.

Piêknie sfotografowana stara, jak widaæ , winnica. Szkoda,ze nie ma na krzaczkach owoców. Ale i tak super, niesamowita wprost przejrzysto¶c powietrza.

A great composition of nature, the perspective of these magnificent vineyards, the path leads the eye toward the big tree, we spotted right in the center of the path, it gives great DOF to the image.

Hi Mariusz,

this is not my favourite photo among your latest ones, but not because is not fine but for another simple reason: this is a sight very familiar to me, plenty of vineyards like this in Sardinia! So unfortunately this sight has lost any appeal to my eyes. I hope you understand this. But nonetheless I wanted to comment it because I think it's a good photo, well captured and well composed. You exploited well the perspective created by the rows of grapes and the clarity and the vivid natural colours make the image so real and 3D. And anyway it's a good documentation of one important Californian aspect.
I've never tasted Californian wine, how is it?

Hi Mariusz. The subject of wine is very interesting. From the vineyard to the finished product, the range. In your photo dominate the middle ground between the vines. The stems are almost as thick as a tree. Well seen and presented. Rgds, Wolfgang.

Although I did visit San Francisco I didn't bother with the Napa Valley Wineries. I would have liked to have visited the redwood forests but there were no tours running. We have some of the best wineries in the world in Australia and I have been to many. The best one in Margaret River Western Australia (Woody Nook) was run by an Immigrant English couple. Hope these vines escaped the recent wildfires. Tfs!
