The "four Corners" area of the American southwest feature ruins of a lost civilization -- the Anasazi. Modern indigenous people do not claim this heritage and refer to these ruins as belonging to someone else's ancestors. The culture flourished from about 500 to 1300 AD, then the settlements were abandoned, likely due to climate change. These are the ruins known as "Betatakin," located within the Navajo Reservation but overseen by the National Parks Service.
