Photographer's Note
Long Beach was a popular beachfront popular with southern Californians in the 1940s and 1950s, especially for its amusement park The Pike. When Disneyland was built, The Pike lost its prominence.
This view is from the permanently anchored Queen Mary which is now a hotel. Gone is the Pike, replaced by high rise businesses and apartments.

Hello Ray,
what the pity that old park is gone abd now there are every where present high buildings, not specially interesting.
I stayed a few days in Long Beach, I preferred than LA. Is the photo partly desaturated ot where there such colours?
Have a nice week

Ciao LongJohnRay
A beautiful symmetry, wonderful reflections and great colours. We do not see much of this part of the USA here, so it's a little treat. I did see a ghost adventures program on the Queen Mary recently, but the city didn't look this good.
Hope you and your queen are faring well

Hello Ray,
the skyline is simple, neat and all the buildings were designed with emphasis on geometry and symmetry (the one in front of the tallest building looks very similar to the "Tower of Athens", the first skyscraper in our city:) The effect of your colour treatment is interesting and creates great interaction between the two halves of the picture. Looks like the colours of the upper part have dripped into the water. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,
Ourania
