Photographer's Note

The second lake on Highway 158 after June Lake is Gull Lake. Trout fishing is a major attraction here, plus camping, hiking, and lodging.
The Sierra Nevada Mountains in the background's highest peak is Mount Lyell at 13,144 feet above sea level.

That is some landscape, and some reflection too. The way the light falls across the scene is really cool and the color of the sky is very unique, it reminds me of the color in those old 1950s American made nature documentary series.

It's a pleasure to see one of your magnificent shots from the West. You had a clear day with brilliant sunlight. The elevation probably requires you to walk slowly and deliberately, 'lest you are entirely acclimatized.

The snowy mountain rises up abruptly behinded the forested lakeside.

Also this lake appears to be at a high altitude.
