Photographer's Note
One World Reflections
For my 250th photo from the United States, it’s time for a reflection photo again! It’s been a while. I’ve shown the reflections in the glass façade once before, but that photo was taken from a different angle, so also the reflections were different. The blue glass façade is part of One World Trade Center, the tallest skyscraper in the Western hemisphere with its symbolic 1,776 feet (541m). It is a bit hard to identify the reflected buildings, but I’m pretty sure the one at left is New York by Gehry.

Bonjour, cher Lars,

Hello Lars,
Reflections can give different impressions; sometimes clear, mirror-like, sometimes abstract, sometimes like a puzzle and this type, truly Impressionistic. I have a feeling that had Monet studied modern buildings, he would have painted something like this! Even the subtle light can be seen! It's a great one to post!
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hello Lars,
Fantastic reflections in the shiny mirror like facade of the Freedom Tower, with wonderful distortions that give an abstract look. The reflected building at right looks like a cathedral. Tfs!

Hej Lars,
Trevlig helg,
Gert

Dag Lars,

Hi Lars,
The reflections on the windows are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the reflections. The light has a good effect on the colours. Have a nice day.

Bonjour Lars,

Buon we

Hello Lars,
One World Trade Center certainly has a lot of space for reflections. :-) I think you're correct about the building on the left side. I like the inclusion of the crane. The new World Trade Center site is almost finished, but not quite. This view is so sharp that we can even see the fluorescent lights inside the offices.

Hello Lars,
These are fabulous reflections. IMHO, leaving out the crane (or whatever that structure is on the left) would have a more dramatic impact.

MT

Veldig bra:)

Hi, Lars.
Excellent composition with these reflections and the effect of dismemberment of buildings in it, is like a painting of modern art.
Point of view, sharpness, luminosity, color and the composition chosen are excellent.
A very beautiful photo. I like it.
You have a good day.
Best regards.
Luis.

Hi Lars
reflection photos never get tiresome :) We can view these all day long and every day. and I agree, its pretty hard to figure out what is what here, but honestly, who cares :) Look at the final result, distortions, funky shapes, very cool. cheers

Hi Lars,
New York is a magical big town, and Manhattan is its real highlight.
I've visited this lovely city in 1999 and in 2005, I've enjoyed the gorgeous views from the South Tower in the Twin Towers before the attacks, but still I don't know the One WTC. I must to return in NY!
I Love this play of reflections on the glass façade of this new tallest building in the city, where we can see the new building of Frank Gehry, and the one at right, that I guess is the Woolworth Building.
Is a great composition.
Best regards,
Josep

Lars, the skyscraper and the tower are reflecting on that glass facade. It creates a pleasant visual result. The buildings look wider than they are in reality. Good framing.
