Photographer's Note
Tired rafters reach the end of their journey early in the morning having traveled the length of the Grand Canyon. They have arrived at the Pearce Ferry (a.k.a. Grand Canyon West) boat ramp. The calm water here belies the malstrom of Pearce Ferry Rapid, what was an International Class VI rapid, that stopped almost all river traffic beyond this point.
I debated whether to add this to the Grand Canyon, Grand Canyon West, or Lake Mead folders. However, as the rafters had made the long journey through the Canyon, I opted for it.
Views of the rapid will follow in the coming days.
