This is Mardi Gras in New Orleans. The street of Bourbon is in full festive mood. The French Quarter is inundated with people, colors, laughs, loves and joys… This beautiful girl expresses that best spirit so spontaneously. I wish to see New Orleans recovered and see all this again. Au revoir!

The thousands of stories I heard about Mardi Grass are not as direct and strong as this picture. Well, you have caught it at the right second, with quick reaction over the camera.

First time I pass thru the picture no reaction; second time no comments; third time 269 viewers 6 comments/critics cannot pass this time.

Saw something like that in a football game few years ago but I was not lucky nor fast enough to shoot it. Others would say that the photograph was disturbed so he missed the shot. (Jean-Pierre)

Well, she's certainly a popular girl, judging by the amount of beads she has!

Good timing, it's a little out of focus (especially around her face - or maybe i'm missing the point here!). And I'd agree with the previous comment that the photo has very low points given the amount of views! SO here's 2 more :)

I recognize I did not know about Mardi Gras which seems to be a passionate festival like in other warm countries. This is what makes this picture interesting for me: I learned something new. Quick reflex of the photographer although there was no time to sharpen more the picture.

I'm not sure about this one. Yes, it captures the mood, and the timing is right, but little else is. Most of the photo is blurry, the compostion is off, and none of the people's expressions are of any interest.
