Photographer's Note
Coming across the Uintah Mountains from teaching a Storytelling class, this fence attracted my eye. Once again, I thought this would look nice from a minimalist viewpoint. I added some contrast and cloned out the various few bumps and tops of bushes so it was pure white.
One of the pleasures of posting to TE is that I can receive comments about experiments like these.
The title is a bit of an inside joke for me, since this is snowmobile area, and though many fences exist, they are mostly several feet under the snoe, so snowmobiles can go freely where they want. Except for here.

Very, very cool. Excellent minimalist composition. The sharp contrast has a bite to it. Cheers man.

I like the concept of this image and the composition is good, but I think it needs higher resolution to have the necessary impact, it would be good if it was possible to see details in the posts and wire as contrast to the featureless white. Anyway, an interesting experiment and a beautiful image.

Pure and simple. A fantastic picture wich could be an illustration for a taoist precept. Thank you David.

indeed, it is minimalistic. But I like it; it makes you think. I love the shadows and the fact that the fence is not straight. well seen.

Nice experience!
Contrast results very well and the composition is great.

Much like the ambiguity of Robert Frost's poetic reference to fences, this too illustrates there are bright and shadowy sides to maintaining boundaries.
If "Good fences make good neighbors",then what do poor fences make? :-) I like the diagonal line you chose for your composition David.

Wonderful photo, very good! The shadows do appear a bit strange, as there are actually two shadows, in different directions. How did this happen?

An experience(experiment) where the technique exceeds me but where I like very much because of its concept and of the produced effect. This fence in diagonal and the shadows surprise.
Une expérience où la technique me dépasse mais que j'aime beaucoup à cause de son concept et de l'effet produit. Cette clôture en diagonal et les ombres surprennent.

Indeed a feast to the eyes. I can't stray anywhere but the fence. Composition and post-processing work is superb. Good job.

By removing the bushes and bumps it gives a very graphic and modern look to this image. I love the shadows, almost looks like there are most shadows of posts than real posts.

What a beuatiful pattern! There is music in the position of the vertical and horizontal lines. Excellent contrast. This is so graphic and creative, just the way I like, David. A favorite.

David, this is a true minimalistic photo thus, has a lot of storytelling for the trained eye.
Great photo!

Creative and artistic. The diagonal line works well to the crisp white in the rest of the composition.
(As for the snowmobiles I'm happy to report that private use of those are restricted around here...)

This is an experiment which has worked very well! Very striking and about as minimal as you can get. The lighting and the shadows of the fence are a big contributor to the sucess of this - without them it would be a little TOO minimal. But this is brilliant - like the diagonal composition too.

Une perspective plutôt dans l’abstrait.
Ici la forte surexposition a été choisi je pense que c'était même l'idée du départ de l’image.
La diagonale bien perçue, pour ma part je l'aurais faite toucher les deux angles .Bravo David.

An outstanding image, David. I love the simplicity and starkness of this. You have also chosen the width of the frame very carefully to match closely the width of the widest post.

David, I may have said the same thing before, but it stays true - less is more, simple is sometimes SO unique - it hits the spot! Great picture

Works for me the black against the bright white, and the line leading you across the frame. intresting angle of shot, a very high view point, is it arial?.

I'm late, so I decide not to read the other comments. Nice piece of art. The diagonal gives force to the pic. Of course that's the only thing LOL. I think, the repetition of triangles adds too. You could rotate the pic than crop to get exactely the same proportion. I like the fact that you cloned out everything beside the fence. Well done indeed David.

sem comentários, parece arte abstrata, aí você olha mais com calma e descobre que é uma fotografia e aí fica assim como estou, encantado. Parabéns mais uma vez.

Really nice!
Usually i dont like such minimalist (as you all it) art, but this time I enjoy: the *realistic* fence is really strinking in this white backgound.
What you could try is to rotate and crop a little to have the fence in paysage mode.

Very affective photo; you've made a fence interesting. The increased contrast works here as there's little to contrast. Well captured.

Wow what a nice dramatic shot you have there. The white snow cover is so unreal with the depleated looking fence going through it. It really shows an empathietic touch towards the feeling towards this enviroment. Well done I love this. A fav for me for sure.
