Photographer's Note
Tufa formations at Mono Lake, with Sierra Nevada behind them, taken after sunrise on a cold cold morning. I made a weekend excursion to southern California to visit friends, and took the indirect scenic route on the way. I took dozens of photos Friday morning, so many more photos to come, and I will add a better note about the geology of this place with other postings.

Hi Tan - great image, the reflections are very good, the water is so still it's almost like glass. the backdrop is good too, the whole scene works really well.

Very interesting place that makes worthy a new visit to California. I love the sharpness here, but in the middle of this transparency, I feel like this could be a perfect spot for a mistery movie (and not precisely "Brokeback mountain 2")

Hi Tan. I've seen shots from this lake before but this may top them all. This was an ideal situation to use a polarizer in. The blue of the lake reminds me of Crater Lake. Fantastic work here Tan!!

Hi Tan,
clearer than this it can't get I suppose. I like the dividing of the water in the calm blue with the perfect reflection and the rimpled background with the disturbed reflection of the mountains.
Thanks and regards, Gerrit

Hi Tan,
I can't think of a clearer reflection image than this. The rippled effect of the mountains contrasts with the clear reflection of the rock/salt formation in the lake.
Wonderful shot

WOW Tan!
Looks like you're really mastering your digital camera now and enjoying the possibility of taking "dozens of photos" during a single morning! :o)
This is really a great landscape and the light was excellent when you were there. I like your POV with these tufa formations and their reflection in the foreground. I'm looking forward to reading more about these rocks in one of your future notes.

Well composed with superb reflections. The lighting is ideal and your DOF allows a very pleasing view of the snowy mountains. The water has a very natural look. A great capture.

Hi, Tan. A very good composition with the tufa formations off centre but taking up a most of the foreground. The reflections are very crisp and you barely notice they are actually reflections. The snowy Sierra Nevada provides a fantastic background.

Merhaba Tan,
This is almost a post from almost a year and a half, but it is also the finest shot I've seen of Mono Lake. The composition, colors and resolution are all spectacular.
Tan, would you be able to lay your hands on the high resolution form of the ws you submitted as
Chateau in Amboise
This has much better quality than the one with the ducks. And do I have your permission to submit it to National Geographic to be used in my upcoming book, "Leonardo's Universe?" Of course, with everlasting gratitude, and credit. I have not assurance that the photo editors will select any on the images I am recommending.
Warm regards. Do you ever get to the Washington, DC area?
Bulent
