Photographer's Note
This was part of a horse show at the Champlain Valley Fair. Riders rode their horses around obstacles like the blue drum you see in the picture, and when they get to the end, they sprint back to the starting position. You see this young rider sprinting back to the starting line. It took each horse less than a minute to finish the course. I guess the fastest horse won!

Hello Harjit,
Very nice action photo. I think you captured the movement very well in this image. I allso think that you used the rule of thirds very well. The movement might have been better illustrated if the horses legs where stretched. Other than that this is a very nice photo. TFS.

Hi Harjit.
Very nice capture of movement. That is a beautiful horse. I may have adjusted the aperture a bit to blur out background. I do think it is interesting that the blue color keeps popping up throughout the photo. Very nice action shot!
Take care.

Hi, Harjit,
I agree with Kirsten, a wider aperture would make the image even more interesting by blurring the background, but it is a nice action pic the way it is, movement is frozen in time and the framing is good.
Nicely done.

Hello Harjit
Great capture of the running horse. I like very much the dust around his legs. Nice dynamism, maybe it would be better without cars in the background, although they gives a specyfic charm ;).

i think if you follow the movement of the subject, and not stand still and snap, the background behind which is the cars will look slightly blurred but the subject will remain its shape. but that requires real skills as to how you will adjust your moving camera to corelate the speed of the moving subject. Photographers normally do this while capturing high speed moving subject.
try adjusting your digital camera to continous shot, follow the move, hold down and let the camera automatically do the snap...
