Ce week-end se déroule à Lyon la fête de la lumière.

Outre les animations colorées sur les grands bâtiments et monuments de la ville, la tradition veut que chaque habitant de la capitale des Gaules place de petits lampions sur le rebord de sa fenêtre le 8 décembre au soir.
L'image des quais de Saône éclairés par des milliers de petites lumières scintillantes est l'une de mes préférées dans notre jolie ville.

Cette année, je n'ai pas pu vous rapporter d'image de cette belle tradition, alors j'ai ressorti pour l'occasion une photo pleine de petites lumières.
Elle représente les buildings de downtown Manhattan depuis le Brooklyn Bridge. Prise à la tombée du jour, quelques minutes aprés celle-ci, elle bénéficie de l'éclairage naturel de la pink hour. Les couleurs ne sont donc pratiquement pas retouchées.

This weekend proceeds in Lyon the light festival.

In addition to the coloured animations on the buildings and monuments of the city, the tradition is that each citizen of the city places small lights on the edge of his window in December 8 evening.
The Saône quays lit by thousands of small scintillating lights is l'une of my favourite in our beautiful city.

This year, I've not been able to bring back shots from this beautiful tradition, then I brought out a pic full of small lights.
It represents the buildings of downtown Manhattan from Brooklyn Bridge.
Taken in the evening, a few minutes after this one, it profits from natural lighting of the pink hour. The colors are practically not improved.

Salut JB,
Bon parallèle avec Lyon et sa tradition.
J'aime bien comment se détache les masses sombres des buildings dans cette lueur du ciel.
Belle prise, les lignes probablement du pont donne aussi un graphisme qui colle bien à l'ensemble.

bien vu ça ! le parallèle avec Lyon est bien trouvé et ces lumières sont excellentes. Un joli graphisme à travers la toile d'araignée du pont de Brooklyn. Très bien fait.

I like this one, JB.
The deep purple of the evening sky makes a superb contrast with the brightly lit buildings, and I like how the sky is broken up by the lines of the suspension cables.
It's a classic NY shot, very well taken.

Superb evening tones and hues. Your POV is everything here, with the wires and lines of the bridge perfectly framing the twinkling lights of the city. The pink hour, as your note indicates, is unsurpassed for urban shooting. Very fine work, JB.

Hello JB ... I like your expression about the "pink hour" ... I will add it to my vocabulaire. Excellent shot through the bridge. Good idea that you can see parts of it as a foreground which gives the additional extra to the photo. The lights still convey a holiday atmosphere, even if this was taken in summertime, I bet the Lyon festivities are stunning, here I like the way the cables bring graphism to the skyline.

Tres belle la composition. Ce sont naturels les couleurs, comme tu nous raccontes, et sont absolument beaux, en nous donnant une merveilleuse gradation, et les petites lumières que font la toile de fond sont aussi bien prises, evoquant la vie urbaine. Merci, bon dimanche.

Eh bien Lyon a bien changé depuis la dernière fois que j'y suis passé (il y a quelques semaines...) :o))
Idée intéressante que ce parrallèle entre les deux villes à l'occasion de la fête des lumières.
La pink hour tant attendue des photographe était bien présente ce jour là et permet d'obtenir une image irréelle et superbe. Bravo pour l'idée de prendre les filins du pont (Brooklyn I suppose?) pour représenter cette sorte de filet géant devant NY.

Les suspends du pont augmentent l'aspect graphique des buildings. J'aime aussi le ciel à l'heure bleue qui se dégrade vers le rose foncé.

je vois que tu as encore quelques belles photos de New York !
J'aime bien la structure du pont qui forme une diagonale et ce très beau ciel.
En imaginant que derrière chque lumière il y a au moins 1 personne, ça en fait du monde.

wow! j'ai découvert par hasard cette photo à ta page d'introduction, et je ne peux pas cesser de l'évaluer comme il est mérité.
C'est une merveille cette vue du skyline du downtown de Manhattan, de ce point de vue qui met au premier plan les câbles du pont de Brooklyn, et avec l'illumination des édifices sur un beau ciel à l'heure bleue.
Dans mon proche voyage en NYC j'essaierai de capter une photo comme la tienne, avec ce graphisme excellent que tu as obtenu dans un cadrage réellement intelligent.
Bravo!
