Approaching Copeland
Lower Copeland Falls - Rocky Mountain National Park
After walking a through the thick, dark, creaking woods of the Wild Basin area for a short while one hears the rushing of the North Fork of the St. Vrain river growing. Descending the hillside brings you to this small but powerful fall in the dark woods ...
I have posted a pair of images of this place in autumn (see Waterfalls Theme). I really wanted to get it with my new filter in Spring at the height of its power .. as the winter snow melts off the high peaks.

Great waterfall shot! I like the softness of the water as it tumbles down, looking very cottony and unthreatening, which is very unsual for a waterfall. I like the tree and bush too, because they naturally frame the falls. Well done!

Hi John,
What a wonderful sight to come to after a vigorous hike. Lovely long exposure shows this milky white water roaring through the Forrest. Wonderful framing of the stream between trees.

John,
The long exposure was very appropriate here. The effect it has on the rushing water is great. The sharpness and DOF are outstanding as is the lighting and color. Your other shots of these falls are very nice as well.

Olá John, it really has a powerful sense of speed and strengh, here. I like the way you used the trunk and pinetree leaves to frame the falls. Beautiful effect from the long exposure of 3s. Great shot.

Waterfalls - one of my favourite subjects ... and taken with a slow shutter. there seems to be lots of power in this one! I like the way you framed it with the tree trunk on one side and the branches on the other, perfectly focused.

Hi John,
the fine detail of the foliage contrasts nicely witrh the glowing blur of water. Looking through the forest gives a real feeling of depth. Regards, Larry

Hi John,
The water in this mood is quite impressive. I like its texture, like cotton, the movement sensation. And I like too the light in the water, brighting at the midde of the forest shadows. Very well done! Thanks.

Angel.

Hello John,
I like this genre very much, with the 3-second exposure of a rapidly moving white water. The extreme sharpness of the bark on the tree (foreground) stands in such dramatic contrast to the amorphous water. I notice that you had submitted this image on my birthday, June 10. Wonderful series, but I'll come back to the others later.
Warm regards, have a rejuventing weekend.
