Another wheat/cereal town that we passed through on our way to the outback was prosperous West Wyalong with its curious main street. That happened when gold was discovered in 1893 and the track that became the main road wound through large eucalyptus trees. Buildings started going up and the main street has had this bend and another in it ever since.
West Wyalong is also well know for the production of eucalyptus oil much of which is exported.

Beautiful view of this street. Clarity and lighting are well done, as always. I like this style of architecture in your country. A Toyota pickup truck is on the left side of Park Street.

Hello Ian,
I wouldn't have thought much about the bend unless you had described its odd background. It actually creates a more dynamic picture, which is also enlivened by the many cars revealing human activities. It's nice once in a while to see a place that doesn't seem like time stopped in the 1960s.

Hi Ian,
Very attractive town indeed. It makes me think of the wild west towns. I suppose the style is similar to the western movies.
Nice sky to decorate the street scene.
I thought I will visit Australia someday but being quite realistic about my budget I am certain now that I will never be able to afford it, so your photos are as far as I get to experiencing Australia :)

Hello Ian, an interesting set of notes, and how the street has a bend as the town developed. Something that we would never think of.
Lovely blue sky enhances our view.
As others have stated, it has a feel of a wild west town.
