Photographer's Note

Parts of Queensland have experienced a "one in a hundred years" drought. This photo is of the exposed dried clay bed of Lake Manchester. I took a number of images on the day. I selected this one as it is almost all dried lake-bed and featureless except for the small piece of wood in the bottom right. I feel it gives a sense of the monotony and seemingly endless nature of a prolonged period of drought. This one is more for the evocative feeling of enduring hardship than any technical achievement.
