Photographer's Note
The worlds largest parasitic plant, this one is ten meters tall, it grows throughout Southern Western Australia and flowers around Christmas time, hence the name. Like Mistletoe it needs a host to survive.
A word of warning, because they flower in our summer (look at the grass ) Christmas trees are one of the few sources of pollen and nectar at that time and are inhabited by a myriad of bees, wasps and other stinging insects. hand held telephoto pov about 25 meters .Cropped and sharpened in Corel p.p.

Hi Peter, Ah yes, summer in Perth when I was young. Nice shot using the bright orange to contrast with the other more drab colours of the Australian bush. Cheers, Steve

I thought I had seen the most colorful Christmas trees already, underwater! I mean, the other Christmas trees, also named tube worms... Thanks to show us this one! You succeeded an attractive picture with warm colors. Well done!
