Photographer's Note

Boulder was a gold mining town next to Kalgoorlie. It had grand pretensions as illustrated by the magnificent town hall (built 1903) but the population never got to be much over 5,000. They ended up giving up being separate and the town is now just a suburb of Kalgoorlie. These days as well as a big and ornate hall it houses Local History Archives and the Goldfields War Museum.
I couldn't get in a position to avoid that light pole. The banner seems to be for some sort of horse event in September, possibly races.

Best in the large view.
