Photographer's Note
ENGLISH: This is Bridestowe Lavender Farm about 1.5 hours drive east of Launceston. Lavender farming was established in the area by an English couple called the Dennys in 1924. The Tasmanian climate and red soil are considered perfectly suited to the production of export-quality French Lavender. The Farm is today run by the Raven Family and apart from being beautiful, has a nice cafe to enjoy lunch and the view, together with a gift shop where Bridestowe's products can be bought.

Hello Lisa,
You have made good use of the curving lines of lavender to draw the viewer into the image and create a long deep perspective. I like the saturated tones and the silhouettes of the mountains under that peerless blue sky. Super sharpness. I note that you have found another photogenic location with somewhere to eat and drink close by :-)

Hello Dear Lisa,
You can't imagine how welcome this fragnant and sunny picture in our monotonous greyness! The place looks absolutely fantastic!
The pov is excellent here, that curve in the rows of lavender makes your composition perfect. Excellent colours, too.
Thanks for your nice critique, I haven't managed to log in successfully to write a response. So in response to your note about the awful heat, here is a small workshop to help you cope with it!
Love from Prague,

ciao Lisa,
splendide queste curve di lavanda con una bella inquadratura in cui anche l'irreale azzurro dei monti sullo sfondo contribuisce ad arricchire cromaticamente la composizione.

Hello Lisa! My good mood continues :))) and here we go with the famous Tasmanian lavender fields (not too many would know about that I guess). Aren't they pretty and they do smell so good. You can actually use them for cooking too! Heat some olive oil and add a few blossoms and salt. I have seen this recepie for fish. We have just googled the farm and found their website and Benno is sure that it is an approach point for Launceston Airport (boys ... LOL ...). This is very nice, thanks for showing. Have a good Sunday, Barbara.

Bonsoir Lisa.

Cara Lisa,
this is really beautiful, Lavender is one of my favourite herb and flower, i love the taste, the odour and the colour. Unbelievable, this is Tasmania?
Your picture is very fine composed and taken, compliment and thank you for sharing.
Un caro abbraccio
Hartmut
PS: There is a movie called "Ladies in Lavender" with Maggie Smith and Judi Dench and the soundtrack is really lovely, if you like violin music. Heraing it reminds me always of the odour of Lavender.

Great use of the contours and the deep blue of the hills behind - a change from your coastal Tassie shots.
By they way I'm back to posting, although I haven't got may Photoshop add ons restored yet.(Trojan virus clear but hard drive dead!)
Cheers and enjoy a mild Sunday after the heat of the last couple of days.

Hi Lisa,
What a beautiful composition with the curves of lavender leading back to the blue mountains.
I visited Tasmania in September so I always think of daffodils when I think of Tasmania. We also encountered snow coming through Cradle Mountain Park on our way back from Strahan.

Hello dear Lisa,
What a spectacular sight of these curved lines of lavender which blends well with the mountains in the background. Tasmania surely looks very different from the mainland, unrivaled by both NSW or Victoria.

Hi Lisa,
I like the neat rows of Lavender

Good contrast provided by the soil
colour. The distant hills takes you
quite far into the image.

Hi Lisa,
Not to be over shadow by the Provence.
This is as beautiful, may be a touch dryer in the climate, I don't know for sure, just judging from what I see here. Anyway, a beautifully composed image with good colors well managed light. There is a slight tilt but that may just be the actual slop of the land. Just lovely those lavander colors against the blue.
