Photographer's Note

Port Wakefield is on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The main rural activity is wheat farming. This cottage was lying there abandoned but looked solid enough for a serious restorer to get to work. The combination of stone colours is a classic South Australian style.

Hello Ian,

In the U.K., with much less land for speculation, this would have been snapped up for renovation!
You have shown us a pretty house, surrounded by wild flower pastures, with lots of buildings to adapt to your needs.
Good details for us to make the summary.
It looks like a fine agricultural area, not at all like the desert of the more interior areas. Do you think it might be too expensive or too remote?

Cela ne prendrait pas grand chose pour lui donner sa gloire du passé. Elle a encore une très belle ossature et la brique semble encore solide. Très beau cadrage et quelle belle lumière.

its funny how you say classic south australian style, because there's a similar South Western American style too, with the same browns, oranges, earthy tones. Always good to see these abandoned homes, now i feel i need to post one. I wonder what the story is here, love the mystery. cheers
