Photographer's Note

I have written much information about Maroochydore in my 14 previous posts of this place which make up 70% of the entire Maroochy Gallery on TE. It is an incredible place, there is a pretty level balance here between nature and people which is rare to find. This photo precedes the two ‘curve’ shots I have posted recently.

This photo of the sun setting over the hinterland was quite an achievement for me at the time; before my time on TE. Had I the opportunity to photograph this today I may have included some FG (from memory this was actually taken from my boat), and waited for the sun to set behind the sand hill or positioned myself so that the tree blocked out the majority of the sun. The shadowy silhouette to the left of the photo is a fisherman who was packing up to head home.

I am pretty happy with the results here the little Pentax Optio has produced. My next objective is to buy a Canon EOS 450D by November. I eagerly await the benefits of this camera – RAW, changeable lenses, image stabilization, polarization; it is all a new realm to explore. I have recommenced uni again this week so I have not been particularly active on TE; hope to catch up this weekend on all the photos I have missed.

Thanks, Matt
