Photographer's Note

Te Araroa (The long walkway) is a series of linked walking tracks that run the length of the country from Cape Reinga in the north to Bluff in the south, a total of 3000 KMs. The trail has its origins in The New Zealand Walkways Commission in 1975 but wasn’t formalised until the Te Araroa trust was formed in 1994. At the moment there are still some sections that are not yet finished.
This particular section of track has only just been upgraded and added to the trail and runs right past my front gate! The photo shows where the track runs along the Rangitikei River before coming past my house.
There has always been some form of walking track along banks of the river here and I have been walking along here for years (along with my dog and camera ;-). I have a few other photos in my gallery from this area.
Enjoy, Paul.
