Photographer's Note

Whilst taking a road trip around the Catland area of the South Island, we stopped off for a walk along one of the beaches and came across this interesting channel that the sea came right down and is filled almost entirely of Kelp. As all the waves moved down the channel the Kelp moved with it and it was quite hypnotic to watch. There were also millions of years old petrified trees to the left of the shot which were really interesting to look at and to the right, there was a lone female Elephant seal - quite a place we stumbled upon!

I think the sky is over-exposed, but I like the texture of the seaweed in B&W.
