Photographer's Note

In 1971 we flew to the PNG highlands from our home in Port Moresby and rented a car to explore the area. Port Moresby, despite being the capital, was not connected to anywhere else in the country by road.
During the drive along the then dirt Highlands Hwy we climbed up to Daulo Pass, the highest point of the road at 8093 feet.
At the top and waiting for transport was a wedding party in traditional clothing except for the man. The bride is the one on the right. The transport for them would have been an open truck.
The larger version of this image is fine even if the sky is a bit mucky.
