Photographer's Note

I took images of the same place a few years back (see my first post), nice to come again to these beautiful places.

The lake water contains many minerals and metals. High levels of iron, manganese and zinc and color can be attributed to runoff from
abandoned mining sites in the Milluni Basin.

The intriguing underwater river is actually a real river what makes it's way in the dry lake bed when the water level drops. This lake is one of the major water sources for the city of La Paz - ofcourse the water goes through a treatment process.
