Photographer's Note

I think that everybody, and everywhere, used to play with a kite in their childhood. Did you? At least one time! Well, maybe somebody didn´t had the chance to play with it living in the big cities, where sometimes it could be not so easy. But for those with the chance to live in open places, like this 5yo kid, I´m sure that it will be always an unforgetable toy. It is unforgetable for me, so I´ve decided to take this picture and post it here, to celebrate the childhood still living inside each one of us...

Very nice take, Jose! The vivid colors, the yanking motion of the string, the total concentration at the kite movement and the wind's direction change, all are depicted here so well! DOF is also good getting everything in focus and with this close distance, you just bring us to the feeling that we are actually the kid, pulling the string...
Thanks for sharing this youth happy time...brings me back to my childhood..

Nice shot Jose,

You positioned yourself in a good spot to get this angle. Looking over the boys shoulder toward the kite, and I also like the anonimity you've given the boy by not capturing his face.

lovely!
seems its the kite season lately.
I have clicked 2 pics on our Independence day, when we fly kites. You can see them in the gallery. They are different in color schemes, but guess the feeling is same. for you celebration of childhood and for me its the celebration of freedom.

realmente sua foto me fez pensar em tempos bem agradaveis e frios...em Sampa era nesta época de agosto que os ventos ficam mais propicios para o "esporte.." :)

Depois de algum tempo sem visitar o TE, é um prazer retornar e encontrar mais um trabalho seu tão bem composto com ótimas cores e POV. Você capturou muito bem a dinâmica do ato de soltar pipas.Apesar de não se ver os olhos da criança, a fotografia transmite a certeza dos mesmos estarem fixos no movimento da pipa!

This is a fabulous shot. I really like your low POV which has given the picture much impact. The framing is just perfect with the boy on the left and then the kite on the right. This also gives good depth. This is excellent work.

The composition is just superb, connecting the boy and his kite, with a sublime balance and also a dynamism with the kite going one way and the boy pulling the other. The colours are also very vivid.

It is a pleasure coming back to your gallery after some time and to see some wonderful new additions to your portflio. This is an excellent composition of the kid flying the kite. Could perhaps have been anywhere in the world, kite flying is such a common passion among kids everywhere. But you got the angle absolutely right.

Jose, le POV est excellent pour nous montrer dans la même photo l'enfant et son cerf-volant avec dans la même diagonale la main et l'engin. La profondeur de champ est bonne et elle concourt à faire une bonne photo.

I loved flying kites at the beach as a kid. This is a wonderful shot of the act. Your POV is awesome. It gives a wonderful sense of height to the shot. Also the yellow of the boys shirt contrasts so nice with the blues of the sky, hat, pants and kite. Very well composed, thank you for the memory.

Soltar pipa! Bingo, voce acertou na mosca. A unica diferenca e que eu fiz as minhas proprias pipas com bambu, folha de seda, cola branca, linha 10 e caco de vidro.

Acho que estou reconhecendo este "modelo" na foto.
Conseguiu um belo ângulo pegando a pipa junto. Não é muito TE mas a foto tá muito boa.
Publiquei uma foto hoje no TN. Vamos ver se fotografo algo do gênero também.

I love the way the kid occupies the frame with his back and turned torso -- great angle! Also nice that we can see the kite as well. But again, your POV is wonderful -- the kid acts as a device which draws us too into the frame and has us playing with that kite.
