Photographer's Note

The Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição is a Catholic church located in the Brazilian municipality of Catas Altas, in the state of Minas Gerais. The celebration of the first baptism in the chapel is dated 1712.
With thick walls and no openings on the sides, the church is built of wood, mud and stone, and has two bulbous bell towers, which represent the influence of Moorish architecture, and correspond to the traditional type of Minas Gerais matrices. There is a cruciform oculus on the façade, three padded external doors, each with a glass window. It has a simplicity characteristic of the Rococo Mineiro.

A Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Conceição é uma igreja católica localizada no município brasileiro de Catas Altas, no estado de Minas Gerais. A celebração do primeiro batismo na capela é datado de 1712.
Com paredes grossas e nenhuma abertura nas laterais, a igreja é edificada em madeira, taipa e pedra, e possui duas torres sineiras bulbáceas, que representam a influência da arquitetura moura, e correspondem ao tipo tradicional das matrizes mineiras. Existe na fachada um óculo cruciforme, três portas externas almofadadas, ficando sobre cada uma delas uma janela envidraçada. É de uma simplicidade característica do rococó mineiro.

The church is quite beautiful and the many lamps surrounding it create a great atmosphere at the blue hour. The couple taking a selfie add some humour to the view. It's a very well exposed photo, and you also captured a great nighttime atmosphere in the WS.

Hello Ricardo,

You mention simplicity, yet this church isn't really simple with its triple doorways and double, ornate bell towers.
You chose an excellent time for the photograph, with the pale exterior of the building having a strong impact against the clear, blue sky.
The two figures, besides the cross, are quite intriguing.
Are they taking a selfie?

uma igreja muito bonita e bem lusitana. os bulbos algo afiados lhe dão uma personalidade diferente já que normalmente eles são mais grossos. linda essa foto com o azulão do céu atrás, até o casal da selfie está bacana na imagem. parabéns!

The illumination of the church façade with its twin towers is excellent and the exposure of the white walls was handled skilfully. It stands out well form the dark blue sky.

Nice architectural shot at low light hour. I feel the exposure is a bit too long causing slight burn out on the left bottom - it distracts to a certain degree. That's my sincere negative critique. Well done

Ola Ricardo,
having the stars like you captured them in the workshop photo is a fantastic effect but I still prefer the blue hour photo. Dusk is such an extraordinary moment of the day.
Here it makes a wonderful color of the sky.
The church itself is very attractive with a unique design of the towers. But captured at the blue hour it looks even more beautiful.
Nice to see the couple at the cross, they add a romantic touch here.
