Photographer's Note
Here’s a view of the Corcovado on the heights of Rio de Janeiro.
This is the original framing : I wanted something original and try to avoid the shoot the people packing around this monument so I standed at the very feet of the Corcovado and tried to get the whole monument. Let's mention that reaching the top of the hill is a great thing : you need to take a small train going through a real rain forest within the city. It's a real pleasure to hear birds a few other animals...
Later on, I had fun with grey-scaling the picture and adding a light source. After some toughts, I found it not so bad. Let me know what you think.
But if you prefer something more academic, I suggest you to have a look here.

I think it is the best angle of taking for Corcovado...You did create a different photo than the classic shots of the statue...DOF work perfect and the sky is very nice...Very well done!

Very nice indeed!
I would like to see some space on the right next to his hand.

Now this is a superb shot, the angle taken gives a very dramatic feel, the statue seems to tower above you.

Great shot...BUT, I agree about the hand being cut off. You've got something wonderful here, the perspective is good, but the hand...anyway, this is good, one of the better shots that I've seen of this subject. Good work!

Brilliant! Just fantastic. This is what we need more of in life - original thought and concepts. Your post-camera work too is just great, and entirely suitable to your overall message.
I would be very pleased with myself if I was you - you have greated a genuine original piece of art.
(Shame about his fingers though. If they are missing from the original some cloning could help...)

This is a great shot, Steven. The angle and perspective makes it special. The hand cutoff is unfortunate.

This is a sort of magic shot where everything works, and the sun halo is very well placed. Very good exposition and view angle. Just regret left hand alters the harmony.

This is a fantastic shot, one of my favourites. The clouds and the sun in the sky really make this photo work.

A nice shot of 'Cristo Redentor' statue in Rio de Janeiro! I gave to it a nice impression of... superiority... Very different from the usual shots of 'Cristo'. Parabéns!
