Sometimes people forget about the chairs and go swimming. They will be there to be burned by the Sun...any sense? shot on Praia de Fora. Look at the real black. :)

Ciao Carlos, this is a beautiful beach scene. There is so many interesting things to the shot. The shadows are excellent, as is your choice of B&W to accentuate them. Good use of the vertical, you've captured the textures on the sand so well. And finally, I love the background blur caused by the shallow DOF. Great job & TFS, Lisa

Hello Carlos! The color version is maybe more "summer" for my Swiss eye but the b/w is probably more artistic in some ways. Love the distant clouds, they add something to my summer mood which seems still far away where I live. Would be nice to sit down with a little drink in one hand and the suncream in the other ... what a life this would be! I have chairs in my gallery but four :))) Best regards, Barbara.

A beautiful conversion of the image in black and white with good management of light. I love the DOF which is well worth the two chairs and brings depth to the beach in the background. An image of atmosphere. Thank you for the color photo in WS that I love for its chromatic harmony.

Black and white results in a very dramatic shot. The strong color (black) and shadows in the foreground and the lack of sharpness in the background emphasize the drama. It is an excellent picture. I smiled when I clicked on the "real black" and I like very much the beautiful yellow and blue. What a clever and fun presentation!

Most times we think in the straight normal way and forget about choices and alternatives that can be even better, so your title can cause some thinking of the same subject but in a different way.

The chairs or slippers or the owners? After the swim it will return to normal?

Oooooooh I am soooo jealouuuus. This is not really fair. This photograph being taken on 26th of Dec...not fair. Still snowing and raining here. Those plastic chairs turned into aesthetic beauty with B&W...but moreover the foreground, the background. It is really an awesome compo.

nice the B/W format of the shot as the blur background brings out the details of the plastic chairs in the foreground.The same is happen in beaches of Greece,when somebodies let them near the sea during their leaving.I can say that the colour version has saturated colours with great contrast and i like it too.Well done my friend.

first,I thought that the chairs were in the water,because of the contrasts on the sand,and the blurred background!The conversion you have done gives more character to the photo!Your note makes me think that it's the chairs that are becoming black with the sun!Very original photo,and very well done!

I would love to shoot this on film. Very good contrast and saturation with shallow DoF. I like how you have managed light and shadow in the frame. The flip flop underneath the chair confirmed your interesting note.
