Photographer's Note

Taken in the same day of the last photo, here I show a view of the Flamengo beach at night.

The origin of the name of the beach comes from an episode of the past, in which a group of Dutch sailors mutinied and settled temporarily on the beach. At the time, there was confusion about the term "Flemish" (the native of Flanders, Belgium) and "Dutch." Flamengo is the portugues of Flemish.

This beach has calm waters, it was situated in the bay. However, for the same reason, it often presents conditions for the bath, due to polluted water.

Fortunately the Ganabara Bay Decontamination Program (PDBG) is moving forward due to the Olympic Games of 2016. PDGB is the largest basic sanitation projects carried out in Rio de Janeiro on the last 20 years. The goal is to reduce pollution of the bay, which is not limited to directly clean the water body, but solve all environmental problems, which determine its current state of degradation. The initial funding for the project were U.S.$ 793 million in 1994.

Complementary Rio de Janeiro State University created the Programa of Enviroment Education (PEA) linked with the PDBG. PEA is one of the activies developed for improving the quality of life of people living around the bay. The PEA operates in thirteen counties and in meetings, seminars, workshops and courses, professionals of public schools, community leaders, members of government institutions and NGOs acquire information for educational activities, addressing environmental problems that are being equated by PDBG.

Managing the light exposure I got this star effect on the light poles. Used smart blur to reduce the noise.

The giant light square is a billboard showing Ronaldo Phenomenum futebol player, to me still one of the best of the world.
